F.:0.5% max or as per the customer’s request; Loss on drying:0.5% max. or as per the customer’s request; =============================================================================== Palmitic acid has a wide range of applications across multiple fields including food, chemical industry, daily chemicals, and pharmaceuticals: Synthetic detergents: Used as softeners or components of surfactants. Soaps and metal soaps: Its sodium or potassium salts are main components of soaps; aluminum and zinc salts are used in lubricants, coatings, and inks. Food industry: Used as defoamers and edible flavorings. Cosmetics: Used in emulsifiers, moisturizers, lipsticks, creams, and ointments. Chemical reagents: Used in organic synthesis, preparation of metal salts, waterproofing agents, and precipitants. =============================================================================== Palmitic acid mainly originates from natural animal and vegetable oils and fats. Industrially, it is prepared through the following methods: Hydrolysis Method: Raw materials: Palm oil, tallow, lard, etc. Process: Oils and fats undergo saponification (alkaline hydrolysis) → acidification → separation of palmitic acid. Further purification can be achieved through vacuum distillation or recrystallization. Chemical Synthesis Method (Less commonly used in industrial production): It can be obtained by oxidation of hexadecanol or long-chain alkanes, but this method has a higher cost and is mainly used for small-scale laboratory preparation. Currently, the mainstream industrial production still relies primarily on hydrolysis of natural oils and fats due to its readily available raw materials, mature process, and good economic efficiency (for reference only). Uses : Palmitic acid has a wide range of applications, covering multiple fields such as food, chemical industry, daily chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Synonyms : Hexadecanoic acid;palmitic acid, pure;Palmitic Acid (1.00509);Palmitic acid tech;Hexadecan acid;1-Hexadecanoic acid;C1698 Fatty Acid; Molecular Structure :
