Shanghai Pesticide Research Institute (SPRI), established in
1963, is the first professional pesticide institute in China.
After being approved by the Science & Technology Committee
of PRC, it became the base for Shanghai Branch of National Pesticide
R&D South center. There are some organizations such as Shanghai
Research Center of Biochemical Technology, Ministry of Chemical
Industry affiliated, Shanghai Pesticide standard committee, Shanghai
Pesticide Examination Center, Shanghai Pesticide Science and Technology
information center set in it. The Institute is also engaged in
editing and issuing of the professional journal <<World
Pesticide>> (formal name is <<Translated Collection
of Pesticide>>. In 2000, we were approved to do import and
export trade.
Since
the establishment, SPRI has developed more than 150 science research
achievements, 90 of them have been put into industrial production
(including over 20 intermediates). The main productions are tradimefon,
jianganmycin, liuyangmycin, Abamectin, Acrylamide made by bio-fermentation,
fenvalerate, Imidacloprid, Quinclorac, Brodifacoum, metribuzin,
nicotinamide, etc. 12 patent applications have been done in China
and overseas. We won 53 national, departmental, provincial or
municipal science and technology progress-making awards. We also
took charge and accomplished more than 10 national science and
technology tackle key items.
At present, our institute has departments of chemical synthesis,
bioengineering, bioactivity test, pesticide intermediate analysis
and test, Science and Technology information, international trade.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Mainly
engaged in research and development on chemical synthesis agricultural
antibiotics, bioactive screening of new compounds, the mechanism
of action, laboratory and fields test of new pesticides.
RESEARCH ON CHEMICAL SYNTHESIS
Specialized in R&D on synthesis of new pesticides, improvement
of production process of available pesticide intermediates and
other fine chemicals, isoxathion and ethofenprox are under R&D.
RESEARCH ON BIOENGINEERING
Mainly engaged in R&D on agricultural antibiotics and biosynthesis,
split, bioconversion of compounds with enzyme reaction. Production
of Acrylamide by bio-fermentation has been industrialized. And
several sets of production installment have been established in
various areas.
R&D OF FORMULATIONS
The formulation of Micro Emulsions of Chlorpyrifos 30% is being
researched and developed at present.
